Three Easy Ways to Keep Your Employees Happy

A happy employee is a more productive employee. When people feel appreciated and enjoy their work environment, they are more likely to stay working for the same company longer. This is beneficial to you as the employer because it will save you time and money in the long run by not having to train new individuals.

Provide Cleanliness and Comfort

If your employees are uncomfortable and forced to work in a dark and dreary setting, their production levels and enthusiasm will drop. Consider providing a workspace that relieves fatigue and keeps thing organized such as winstead consoles. Paint walls in a light creamy color to eliminate dark corners, and make sure there is adequate lighting at all times. Hire a local cleaning service to come in at least once a week to keep things looking their best.

Show Your Appreciation

Dont think that you have to make a big production out of thanking your employees with an award dinner and all the trimmings. While this is always nice, a heartfelt thank you can go a lot further. Take the time to look your employee in the eye and tell them you appreciate their efforts. Don’t do it unless it is sincere. Throwing out a thank you for every little thing diminishes its meaning.

Treat Employees with Respect

If you want respect, you have to be willing to give it. Your employees are not your slaves. They are individuals with families and lives outside of the workplace. Show interest in them as individuals. Saying ”happy birthday” once a year, remembering to ask about their spouse or children, or being understanding when outside demands take them away from the office will create a respectful relationship.

These simple things can make a huge difference to your employees. Providing a clean and comfortable place to work, showing your appreciation, and treating them as an actual person will go a long way in creating a happy and productive workplace that you can all enjoy.
