We Indians love our bikes. And this is in no way an exaggeration, but a fact! Even though a two-wheeler does not offer the level of comfort and luxury of a car, the experience of riding a bike is, to put it in a way, a thrill like no other.
Apart from the fun part, commuting on a bike is pretty convenient too. You can zip through the traffic of crowded cities with great ease on a bike. It is no surprise to see a slew of new bike models being launched into the Indian market every year. This year, it’s no different. If you are into the market hunting for a new pair of wheels, here’s a list of some exciting bikes to watch out for in 2017. Be it a no-nonsense commuter bike or a high-end superbike, there are some great offerings in every segment. Without further ado, let’s take a look.

This bike from the company UM is expected to get launched in the month of July. It is expected to compete with the Avenger line of bikes from Bajaj and is slated to sport a 280 cc liquid cooled engine. · Hero Glamour 125
This one is for the commuters looking for a functional bike for daily travel. The Hero Glamour 125 is only the third bike developed from scratch at Hero’s centre for Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur. This bike is set to compete with the 125 cc segment market leader Honda Shine.
· Ducati Monster 797
With an expected price tag of 6.5 lakh, Ducati intends to target the entry level premium bike segment. The Monster 797 is a toned down version of the high-end Monster 821. It churns out 74 bhp and 68.6 Nm of torque with the design and styling inspired by its bigger counterpart. The expected launch date is June-July.
· Hero Xtreme 200S
It’s been a while since Hero has launched a bike in the higher cc segment. This is expected to change with the Xtreme 200S. Sporting a 200cc, single-cylinder engine, with 18 bhp and 17 Nm of max power and torque respectively, ABS is offered as an option. The expected price is around 1 lakh and is expected to launch in the latter part of the year.
These were some of the bikes to look forward to in 2017. Whichever is the bike, whatever is the purpose, and two things are an absolute must. One, an ISI certified helmet and second, a two wheeler insurance.
