Before you buy scrubs for work, there are a few tips to keep in mind so that you get something that will fit the body instead of something that you’re not going to be comfortable in while working with patients or while working in the office. Items like Cherokee scrubs and others that you can get on sale or clearance without spending a lot of money are just as good as the sets that you spend a large amount of money on and only wear for a short time because they get torn, become faded or simply become too worn out to work in any longer.

There are basic designs as well as scrubs that are a bit more stylish. Find out from the employer if there is a specific design that you should wear. Another aspect to look at is the type of work that you’ll be doing on a daily basis. If you’re working in an office, then a designer set might be a better option as you’re interacting with the public and representatives who come through the door. However, if you’re working with patients, bodily fluids and other liquids, then you want to wear clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in that you don’t mind getting messed up on a daily basis.

You want to be able to have enough scrub sets so that you can wear something different each shift. The last thing that you want to do is wear a scrub set that you have worn to work with patients who are bleeding or who have infections. This could play a part in the amount of money that you spend on your sets. If you work several shifts during the week, then cheaper is the better route to go as scrubs can get pricey.

Look at the amenities that are offered with each set. Some have pockets on the chest to make it easier to carry things like a small notebook or a pen light. If you move around a lot, then a side slit would be a benefit as it allows for easy movement when you’re working with patients and equipment.
